Double billing

We were charged for a 3 year subscription on our charge card in January. That was $356.37. Then in February we were charged the same amount again. To keep this from being a monthly charge (instead of an every 3 year charge) we blocked them.

Help with existing account

I tried to get into one of my computers in another state to get a document I urgently needed. Carbonite informed me that it was not working on that computer so I would have to log in and correct it.

That's PRETTY HARD TO DO WHEN I AM THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY.

Of course there is nothing I can do about it until I return to that state in April (It's January now).

Your representative suggested I get a friend to go into my house, log in, and fix the problem with one of your associates.

Yea, right.

Like I want another person logging into my computer when I'm not there and trying to fix something they know nothing about.

You should have contacted me whenever your service was corrupted so I could have fixed it while I was there.

THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

Your representative didn't seem bothered by it at all.

I always use my files on this other computer while I'm away. So, basically, I'm screwed.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Several attempts to remotely connect the backup again.

Carbonite cancelled my service/deleted my files by mistake

I bought a new computer in August as my old computer screen hinge broke. I no longer needed Carbonite as I bought a MacBook.

I have backup through Apple, and no longer need my Carbonite service after it expires in Jan 2024. I called and talked to someone who canceled my autopay for renewal, Everything was completed and all seemed right. Then Carbonite kept sending me notices that I needed to back up the computer that broke. I emailed them to tell them please don't send me more emails as I am not using Carbonite on my MacBook.

Carbonite Josh P, sent an email telling me that if I didn't want to receive emails give them my information when I bought the product. I did all that, and for some reason the closed everything and deleted my backup. I called them this morning and the rep sounded like a broken record telling me over and over that I read the email wrong. I said the email was confusing and he said he couldn't do anything.

I finally gave up, we were talking in circles. I will never use Carbonite again!

Closed my account and deleted backup

/dSupposed to have my account until Jan 15 2024. I got a new computer and a different backup. Called Carbonite and got it all squared away. Then Carbonite kept sending emails telling me I hadn't backed up my broken computer. I emailed them to ask to stop the reminders, and the closed my account and deleted everything. Horrible customer service! I would never use this service again, and I don't recommend it.It started out at $55, and every year the price went up, finally paying $88. Do NOT TRUST these people, they do what they want with your data. Now all in backup is gone and no refund.

Carbonite - I have been trying to get support for days.
I need a tech support rep. After auto backing up files from my hard disk were missing. I looked at the backup and they were there but were going to be deleted in 23 days. I'd like to know what happened to cause this and how to prevent it in the future. I makes no sense. Both your online support and customer support say they will get you in contact with an agent. After two days of trying - no agent. If you can't get this resolved please cancel my account and prorate a refund. Your service is horrible.

Carbonite signed me up for automatic renewal for 3-year subscription. Last January, a year into that commitment they assigned to me, I changed devices from a PC I'd used for years to a new MacBook Air.

I assumed Carbonite backed up my data. In fact, they appear to back up the DEVICE. You refuse to let me cancel the subscription with pro-rated refund. You refuse to transfer the remaining time over to my new device, You ever-so-helpfully send me periodic reminders that the PC I no longer use is not backing up!

Duh. What shameful, abusive corporate policies.

So I'm out a couple hundred bucks. Disgraceful.

In my opinion this is a BOGUS company. I was coming up on my one year renewal and received an email.

I decided I had some questions before I renewed. I have been trying to contact somoene ALL DAY. I found a different number than the one I saw listed under Support when I signed in, so I tried that number too. Nothing works.

If it tells you you have an 11 minute wait, you will wait until *** freezed over. No one ever answers. If you tell the system that you will accept a call back when it's your turn, it calls you back and no one EVER comes on the line.

There is NO WAY to speak with someone or even do live chat. NOTHING.

Why do you make it so difficult to get technical support?! When my pc went down this past week I was able to restore most of my apps, documents, etc.

from the Carbonite back-up. However, one of the more critical things I lost was my email pst file. I use Thunderbird. I have now lost several hundred collected email addresses along with several important saved emails.

I can not find any article on your website. No one has yet to respond to my inquiry from Friday.

If this is what you offer I will switch to another service. I have used Carbonite for several years so the courtesy of a reply is warranted at the very least

Several issues involved here, including an error on my part regarding an overpayment which I realized later was not related to Carbonite. I canceled my account, received a credit for money paid, and since then have reactivated my account. This was my fault and I apologize.

I was charged 3 different charges in approx 2 1/2 weeks in December and I want to know why. After given different phone numbers, it appears Carbonite is now owned by another company. What's going on? I want to cancel and I want my money back.
